22/03/2004 (Agence Europe) - Thousands of Iranians called on Sunday in Brussels, before the General Affairs Council of 22 March, for the Foreign Ministers of the 25 to remove the People's Mojahedin Organisation of Iran (PMOI) from the European Union's list of terrorist organisations. In a video-taped message for the Brussels gathering, Maryam Rajavi, the movement's leader, affirmed that keeping the PMOI on the terrorist list would "be more and more in the interest of a regime that is the epicenter of fundamentalism and the terrorism that emanates from it". According to the press release, MEP Herman Schmid (GUE/NGL, Sweden) recalled during the demonstration that the regime in Teheran has rejected the request to hold free elections in Iran under UN supervision.
