Pascal Lamy evokes extension of Sino-European "honeymoon" to ensure "long and happy marriage"

Brussels, 16/03/2004 (Agence Europe) - As part of his Asian tour (EUROPE 13 March p 8), Pascal Lamy was in Peking on Monday where he met vice prime minister Wu Yi and the new minister for trade Bo Xilai. The latter asked the European Commissioner for trade, and through him the EU, to consider China as a full market economy. He also requested compensation for the losses his country would suffer following Union enlargement.
