Taoiseach rejects two-speed Europe - No substantial differences with Prodi, Commission spokesperson says - Ciampi hopes for agreement before European elections

Brussels, 05/01/2004 (Agence Europe) - European Council President Bertie Ahern considers the idea of a two-speed Europe "not helpful". On Sunday, the Taoiseach said on Irish RTE radio, as reported by Reuters, that: "Prodi has been talking about this for years and I have never stopped reminding him that I don't believe it's a good idea.
