22/12/2003 (Agence Europe) - On Friday, the European Commission cleared the proposed acquisition by Norwegian oil company Statoil ASA of a stake in the In Salah joint venture currently controlled by BP Plc and Sonatrach of Algeria. The transaction does not significantly alter the competitive situation on the European gas market.
