American investment group HICKS, MUSE, TATE & FURST is about to buy the British company WEETABIX LTD (breakfast cereals; turnover of 361.63 million pounds sterling in the financial year to August 2002, with 2,800 employees). It is offering £53.75 per share, or a total of 654 million pounds in cash.
