Strasbourg, 21/11/2003 (Agence Europe) - The Permanent Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly at the Council of Europe will be meeting up on Tuesday 25 November in Maastricht. The agenda includes reports on: suicide among young people, lesbians and gays in sport, organic farming, Mediterranean coastal erosion, charges of treason against Russian journalist Grigory Pasko. Parliamentarians will also hold an exchange of views with the Dutch Foreign Affairs Minister Jaap de Hoop Scheffer, who is currently in charge of the Committee of Ministers. In the morning, the Assembly Bureau will meet in closed session to discuss: 1) the possibility of opening up a follow up procedure for Liechtenstein, 2) a petition on rights for Dutch speakers for medical care in their language in Brussels and 3) the request by the Belarus parliament to restore its special invite status to the Assembly.
