American group GE- GENERAL ELECTRIC- has floated half of its insurance arm, regrouped into a new company known as GENWORTH FINANCIAL (turnover of 13 billion dollars in 2002). The conglomerate intends to float 30% of the capital of this new company, the shares of which are valued at a total of around 10 billion dollars.
