Strasbourg, 19/11/2003 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday in Strasbourg, with a majority of almost three fifths (300 for, 210 against and 19 abstentions) the European Parliament approved, the use of stem cells from human embryos being used for research. To the acute consternation of rapporteur, German Christian Democrat Peter Liese, who had just requested in the plenary to throw out the draft, Parliament preferred to follow its industry committee.
