EU to send EUR 117 million to Ukraine for nuclear safety

Brussels, 13/11/2003 (Agence Europe) - The European Union has decided to send EUR 117 million for 2004-06 to help improve safety in the Ukraine's nuclear plants (four plants in use and the Chernobyl plant closed in 2000). This announcement cam about during the European Commissioner for External Relations, Chris Patten's visit to the Chernobyl site.
