Commission and UN to launch joint world appeal for EUR 2.6 bn in humanitarian aid for 2004

Brussels, 13/11/2003 (Agence Europe) - The United Nations and the Humanitarian Office of the European Commission (Echo) will be launching on 19 November in Brussels (Centre Borschette), a joint appeal for more than EUR 2.6 bn (USD 3 bn) in humanitarian aid to cover the estimated needs for people who need assistance in the world during 2004.
