Brussels, 17/10/2003 (Agence Europe) - As expected, Mr Chirac presented the position of the German Chancellor on Friday, during the adoption of the conclusions of the European council of Brussels. Gerhard Schröder had returned to Berlin to defend his social reforms at the Bundestag. Jacques Chirac requested on behalf of France and Germany, amendments to the draft on de-industrialisation, immigration quotas and the aim to finalise the IGC.
