13/10/2003 (Agence Europe) - On Monday, Greenpeace diffused a report which pleads in favour of introducing a substitution principle in the future European regulation on chemical products. Commissioner Margot Wallstrom, responsible for environmental policy, was to speak on the subject on Monday evening during a conference organised by Greenpeace. EUROPE recalls that several NGOs recently reproached Ms Wallström for having gone back on herself after having long defended this principle which would force companies to use a chemical product whose harmlessness is proven each time that such a product exists.
