09/10/2003 (Agence Europe) - On the World Anti Death Penalty Day on 10 October, the European Commission reaffirmed its commitment to abolishing the death penalty. In 2002, it spent 4.9 million EUR on projects to raise public awareness in countries which still use it, said a press release. The World Association of Parliaments against the Death Penalty will be officially launched, this Friday, in the chambers of the Belgian Senate.
