First estimates of fall in output linked to continued drought in EUROPE

Brussels, 19/08/2003 (Agence Europe) - In the context of its regular forecasts in support of Common Agriculture Policy, the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission has analysed the effect that the continuing drought will have on harvests in the European Union. According to estimates, the expected loss of output for main crops varies between 2% for potatoes and 25% for sunflower.
