Heineken purchase of BBAG is cleared

Brussels, 18/07/2003 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has cleared the proposed acquisition of Austrian brewer BBAG by Heineken of the Netherlands. BBAG operates in the brewing, marketing and distribution of beer and of a number of n on-alcoholic beverages. The operation concerns the production and distribution of beer in Austria, France, Greece, Italy, Ireland and the Netherlands.
