06/06/2003 (Agence Europe) - The European Parliament on Wednesday adopted a report by Ian Hudghton (Greens/FTA, UK) modifying a December 2002 proposal on reinforcing provisions on the protection of young stocks (EUROPE of 24 January 2003). The EP removed the exemption the Commission wished to grant to boats fishing with the smallest mesh sizes, and added provisions for the measures provided for in the regulation to take account of the opinions of new regional consultative councils, recently...
