03/06/2003 (Agence Europe) - While Messrs Giscard d'Estaing, Dehaene and Amato prepare to consult the various components of the European Convention on Wednesday on key institutional issues (see yesterday's EUROPE, p.7), the six founding countries of the ECSC - France, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg - continue to work on a possible common approach on these still highly controversial issues. Work, it seems, is making headway, but it is not certain whether a joint initiative will be presented in the immediate future. At the Saint Petersburg Summit last weekend, Silvio Berlusconi had confirmed to the press that Italy was to submit a proposal of institutional architecture to the other founding countries, addressed to the Convention (see yesterday's EUROPE, p.8).
