21/05/2003 (Agence Europe) - Commissioner David Byrne welcomed the adoption, on Wednesday in Geneva, of the Convention on Tobacco Control by the Assembly of the World Health Organisation. In a press release, he welcomes the results reached by "an alliance of 192 countries which have decided to put the health of their citizens first" and to protect them "from the worst excesses of a powerful global industry".
