08/05/2003 (Agence Europe) - The JHA Council has approved without debate the framework decision for fighting corruption in the private sector. A political agreement had been reached on this decision at the Council in December 2002 (see EUROPE of 21 December, p.11). The Council also approved the appointment of two vice-directors for Europol, Danish Jens Henrik Hojbjerg and British Kevin Philip O'Connell. This was the first EU Justice and Home Affairs Council with the participation of ministers from the ten acceding countries.
