29/04/2003 (Agence Europe) - The European Parliament Energy and Transport Committee, chaired by Spanish Socialist Carlos Westendorp, organised a hearing on 29 April on security of energy supplies, minimum stocks of crude oil and natural gas, to prepare the way for the drafting of reports by Hans Karlsson (PES, Sweden) on the draft directive on the security of oil supplies, and Peter Michal Mombaur (EPP-ED, Germany) on the draft directive concerning the security of gas supplies. The participants include Klaus Dietman Jacoby of the International Energy Agency in Paris; Peter Tjan, Secretary General of Europia (European Petroleum Industry Association); Jean-Marie Devos, Secretary General of Eurogas; and Manfred Küng of IFIEC Europe (International Federation of Industrial Energy Consumers).
