Brussels, 16/04/2003 (Agence Europe) - The CEMR (Council of Municipalities and Regions) is holding its States General on 13-15 May in Poznan in Poland, with ad debate on the future policy of Europe. CEMR President and President of the Convention, Valéry Giscard d'Estaing, will be participating.
The agenda will also include: cohesion policy: support for deprived areas and the role of local and regional organisations as agencies for development; long term economic development, social cohesion and environmental protection in the European sustainable development strategy; education quality as a primary responsibility of local authorities in the 21st century; immigration, the right to asylum and integration.
