09/01/2003 (Agence Europe) - In a press release, CDU member Werner Langen defends European Energy Commissioner Loyola de Palacio against the reproach made of her by the EP Greens who accuse her of being a "lobbyist for nuclear energy". The European Commission stresses that it is not possible to give up nuclear energy but also insists on the fact that alternative energies should be developed, Mr Langen says.
