09/01/2003 (Agence Europe) - The President of the Socialist Group in the European Parliament, Enrique Baron, said that the group (the second in size after the EPP-ED) would back the candidature of Professor Nikoforos Diamandouros, current Greek Ombudsman, as successor to Jacob Soederman as European Ombudsman.
