Brussels, 02/01/2003 (Agence Europe) - Sony Corp (US subsidiary of Sony Japan) and Koninklijke Philips Electronics (the Netherlands) have been given the green light by the European Commission to jointly take control of Intertrust, a US digital rights management systems (DRM systems) company, active in this new mushrooming sector. The Commission examined the situation of the parties on connected markets, concluding that the deal would not make any significant change to competition.
