22/11/2002 (Agence Europe) - Benelux countries will present a common contribution to the European Convention on 4 or 5 December. As indicated by Guy Verhofstadt in his speech in Bruges, they have contacted other Member States and candidate countries (see EUROPE/Documents N: 2299 dated 22 November). In this context, a working lunch, Chaired by the Dutch Minister for European Affairs, Atzo Nicolai (in the absence of Annemie Neyts his Belgian counterpart who is currently Presiding Benelux) took place last Monday where Benelux, Finland, Greece, Portugal, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland and Hungary attended.
