EU welcomes efforts to resolve Aceh issue

Brussels, 05/11/2002 (Agence Europe) - On behalf of the EU, the Danish Presidency made the following declaration (unofficial translation):

"The European Union supports the ongoing efforts of the Government of Indonesia and the GAM (Free Aceh Movement) towards a peaceful solution to the violence in Aceh. Dialogue is the only viable solution. The European Union encourages the parties to put their best efforts into reaching an agreement soon that can lead to an all inclusive dialogue and...
