Tirana, 05/11/2002 (Agence Europe) - Marco Panella, President Co-ordinator of the Transnational Radical Party and MEP has taken part in the Party's congress in Tirana. The theme of the congress was, "Creation of world democracy organisation". Mr Panella underlined the fact that the conference had taken place in Tirana because the Albanian authorities "recognise radical ideas themselves". Prime Minister, Fatos Nano, welcomed this occasion of "radical struggles for the universal affirmation of rights and freedoms" and the radical idea of creating a, "Parliamentary Assembly of Balkan countries".
Participants included Afghan government and opposition representatives in Kosovo and from other south -East Asian countries. Omar Khanbieve, Health Minister in the Chechen government of President Mashkadov, sent an appeal by teleconfernece, criticising the fact that "brave Denmark", which had allowed the world Chechen Congress to be held in Copenhagen despite protests from Russia felt obliged to make arrests of Akmed Zakaiev the special representative of the Chechen President, based on the false accusation.
