30/10/2002 (Agence Europe) - Last week, the European Parliament approved without amendment the Council common position on the draft regulation relating to rail transport statistics (report by Camison Asencio, EPP-ED, Spain). The proposal aims to establish complete and harmonised statistics to follow the developments in rail transport and be able to improve safety (see EUROPE of 3 July, p.17).
