Commission proposes mechanism to prevent return to Europe of low-price medicines exported to poor countries

Brussels, 30/10/2002 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday, the European Commission adopted a Council draft regulation aimed at preventing the re-import into Europe of low price medicines intended for developing countries to combat AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis. This proposal comes within the European Union's more comprehensive strategy vin view of promoting access to medicines for populations of poor countries.
