09/10/2002 (Agence Europe) - The European Agency for the Evaluation of Medicinal Products Directorate (EMEA) has adopted a decision lowering the agency's budget for 2002 from EUR 70,547,000 to EUR 65,423,000. This reduction reflects the fall in the number of requests for authoritsations received since the beginning of the year. Only 25 applications were received by the end of September as opposed to 58 in 2001.
