Foreign Affairs Committee selects candidatures of one Tunisian, one Egyptian, one Cuban and one Zimbabwean

Brussels, 01/10/2002 (Agence Europe) - The European Parliament's Committee on Foreign Affairs, chaired by CDU member Elmar Brok, selected the candidates for the 2002 Sakharov Prize for free thinking. The Conference of Presidents is to designate the prizewinner on 17 October, and the prize will be awarded during the plenary in December (from 16 to 19 December), in Strasbourg.
