25/09/2002 (Agence Europe) - The European Parliament celebrated its fiftieth year (at the birth of the ECSC, it was called "common assembly") at a ceremony in Strasbourg on Wednesday, attended by former presidents Mario Colombo, Piet Dankert, Enrique Baron Crespo, Klaus Haensch, Jose Maria Gil-Robles, Henry Plumb and Egon Klepsch. Two former presidents, Simone Veil and Nicole Fontaine were excused by the current President Pat Cox.
