Pernod Ricard asks the Commission to intervene to protect its brandnames in Poland

Brussels, 10/09/2002 (Agence Europe) - France's Pernod Ricard (which markets the famous Polish vodka Wyborowa, having bought the brandname in 1999), has sent a letter to Enlargement Commissioner Günter Verheugen expressing concern at a draft law that might be approved this week by the Polish government, that the company believes would contravene EU legislation on defining and describing spirits.
