09/09/2002 (Agence Europe) - On 18 September, the European Commission is expected to adopt a draft amendment to the pre-accession agricultural aid scheme SAPARD to give the Czech Republic and Slovakia, both hit by the floods this summer, more favourable funding criteria by raising the public aid ceiling for projects in the areas hit by the floods to 75% and EU funding from 50% to 85%.
