Brussels, 19/08/2002 (Agence Europe) - Two years after the Lisbon European Council, a positive assessment can be made of implementation of the strategy initiated at the summit in March 2000 to make the European Union the most competitive and dynamic knowledge-based economy in the world. Thus, the tone of the outline paper on follow-up to the Lisbon strategy, presented recently by Professor Maria Joao Rodrigues, its initiator and currently special adviser to President Romano Prodi.
