Brussels, 19/08/2002 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has decided to release further aid of € 16 million to provide assistance for Malawi, which is experiencing a food crisis. The emergency aid will provide food for those most in need for a four-month period. Around 40,000 tonnes of maize will be purchased in the region and distributed to the populations concerned.
