Brussels, 14/08/2002 (Agence Europe) - In its annual report (for the session 2001-2002) entitled "Democracy and Accountability in the EU and the Role of National Parliaments", the European Scrutiny Committee of the British House of Commons issues an appeal for more transparency in decision-making in Europe and more direct involvement of national parliaments at Community level, in an attempt to address the "disconnection" between citizens and the European institutions.
