14/08/2002 (Agence Europe) - Eurostat announced last week that industrial producer prices declined 0.1% in June from those of May, both in the euro area and in the EU as a whole. The biggest declines were in Portugal (- 0.8%), Belgium, Luxembourg and Finland (0.4% in all three). Compared to June 2001, prices fell 1.1% in the euro area and 1% in the EU. Portugal and the Netherlands posted the sharpest decreases with -3.8% and -2.5% respectively.
