Commission proposes ban on antifouling compounds on hulls of ships

Brussels, 19/07/2002 (Agence Europe) - As we had announced (EUROPE of 12 July, p.15), the European Commission adopted its proposal of regulation on Thursday aimed at banning the application of organotin compounds on ships in Member States from 2003 and on all vessels entering a Community port, whatever flag they sail under, from 1 January 2008.
