Balance sheet of first five years of European Employment Strategy and its future priorities

Brussels, 17/07/2002 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday the European Commission adopted a Communication reporting on the first five years of the European Employment Strategy. The strategy was launched at the Luxembourg Employment Summit (November 1997) with the aim of combatting unemployment. It is due to be revised in 2002 in line with the agenda for European social policy.
