EU Presidency invites Morocco to immediately withdraw its troops from the island of Perejil

Brussels, 15/07/2002 (Agence Europe) - While the Spanish and Moroccan authorities were seeking to calm tension caused by the arrival of Moroccan security forces on the island of Perijil (see EUROPE of 13 July, p.16), the Danish Presidency published the following statement on Sunday: "The Presidency of the EU is very concerned about the situation created by Morocco on the island of Perejil.
