04/06/2002 (Agence Europe) - Finnish foreign minister Erkki Tuomioja admitted in an interview with Reuters that EU enlargement would require deep changes in the way the EU institutions operate, but came out against having a "President" of the EU with a several year mandate, adding that the issue was not on the agenda for Seville, but that by the next Intergovernmental Conference the most extreme ideas will have been dropped, like the idea of a permanent presidency uniquely for big countries...
