Brussels, 31/05/2002 (Agence Europe) - The Economy and Finance Ministers of the twelve countries of the euro zone are meeting in Luxembourg on Monday evening, chaired by Rodrigo Rato, to discuss not only the general economic situation but also how the Eurogroup could function when the EU is enlarged to other Member states. To fuel the debate, the Economic and Financial Committee (EFC) will present a report setting out different possible scenarios. You may recall that the leading idea that seems to prevail within the Eurogroup and the Commission would consist in considering ways of strengthening this body's role making it more formal, and thus more apt to take decisions.
