07/05/2002 (Agence Europe) - the Special Co-ordinator of the Stability Pact for South east Europe, Erhard Busek appointed the Dane Soeren Jessen-Petersen as new Chairman of the Steering Committee on Refugee Matters. Mr. Jessen-Petersen said that, whereas the return of 100,000 refugees in 2001 was "a promising sign", he wanted to address the plight of 60,000 people still languishing in collective centres".
