08/04/2002 (Agence Europe) - MEP Marco Pannella was elected President-Coordinator of the Transnational Radical Party, at the Party Congress which ended on 7 April in Geneva. Furthermore, the Congress set in place a Committee of Presidents formed of MEPs Olivier Dupuis and Marco Cappato, as well as Marco Perduca and Danilo Quinto. Liberal Democrat Chris Davies, also MEP, announced his membership to the Transnational Radical Party after having presented the conclusion of the committee under his chairmanship "against all prohibitionists". The Congress indicated among its future priorities the "fight for freedom" of Chechnya and Tibet, a "democratic offensive for Israel's entry into the European Union and the establishment of democracy in Tunisia", as well as a "campaign for the integration of the Balkan and the Caucasian countries in the European Union and in favour of exporting the democratic system to the Asian continent".
