Japan's HITACHI and MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC are to combine their LSI integrated circuit businesses in joint venture that will be the third biggest microprocessor global player after INTEL and TOSHIBA. The joint venture will have an annual turnover in the region of 700 bn yen.
