Brussels, 18/02/2002 (Agence Europe) - "Confrontation for a European participative democracy" is organising for 28 February, on the European Parliament premises, a conference-debate on the theme: "Gas, electricity: reconciling liberalisation and general interest in Europe". The conference will be organised by Philippe Herzog, MEP (GUE-NGL) and chairman of "Confrontations". Participants will notably include François Lamoureux, Director General of the DG Transport/Energy at the European Commission, and Pierre Gadonneix, President of Gaz de France (Information: 32(0)2 284 71 23). Furthermore, the Parliament will host, on 5 March, a round table on the theme "Energy Liberalisation: Chances of Success and Risks of Failure".
