ADM can take full control of Toepfer

Brussels, 13/02/2002 (Agence Europe) - The Commission has given the go-ahead for the US agri-industrial company, Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) to take full control of the Alfred C. Toepfer International/In Trade (ACTI) group that is based in the grain and other unrefined agricultural products business in Hamburg. The investigation revealed an overlapping of activities in the international trade markets and in the whole-sale of unrefined seed oil, used by oil processing and oleaginous flour companies as a major main animal-feed. Shares of the market will only exceed 15% of actual sales of unrefined seed oil and oleaginous flour, and given the number of major international competitors, the Commission gave the operation the green light.
