Brussels, 25/01/2002 (Agence Europe) - The Commission is continuing its announcements of the adoption of urban development programmes, Urban II for 2000-2006:
Gothenburg 9Sweden): 16 million euro, 5.3 of which from the EU, 9.2 from the Swedish authorities and 1.5 from the private sector. This programme will finance projects aimed at: training, support for companies, aid for excluded persons, especially in seeking work.
Helsinki-Vantaa (Finland): 22.5 million euro, 5.3 of which from the EU, 15 from the Finnish authorities and 2.2 from the private sector. Priorities are training, locating businesses, aid to seeking employment.
Dublin-Ballyfermot (Ireland): 11.4 million euro, 5.3 of which from the EU: combating social exclusion is the main aim of the programme.
Arhus (Denmark): 12 million euro, 5.3 million of which from the EU. Here too, this "urban regeneration" programme is mainly intended for training, improving the business environment and help in seeking employment.
