08/01/2002 (Agence Europe) - Le Figaro on 8 January indicated that former President of the French Republic, Valéry Giscard d'Estaing (who will be presiding over the Convention's preparations for future EU reform) will be President of the International Consultative Committee of Fitch, the international credit rating agency belonginging to the Fimlac group. The committee will meet once a year to assess the world economic situation and the global markets. Former German Chancellor Hans Tietmeyer, former Governor of the Bank of France, Jacques de la Rosière, and former American Treasury Secretary, Paul Volcker will also participate in the committee.
